Las entradas de reinas a ciudades fueron un campo primordial de acción política y construcción ideológica durante la Edad Moderna española. Conjugadas como uno de los grandes eventos públicos de la monarquía, proporcionaron a esta muchas ocasiones de glorificación y justificación a la vez que se soslayaban los puntos más débiles de la autoridad regia. Desde el punto de vista cultural, fueron ámbito para el desarrollo de complejos programas iconográficos y caóticos conjuntos decorativos, a la vez que escenarios en los que las relaciones de género se visualizaban en el entorno urbano. ABSTRACT: The author of this essay argues that the source of the image of the snail from Juan de Borja’s 60th impresa of his Empresas Morales is textual, and that it can be traced back to the Picta Poesis by Aneau Barthelemy. Este artículo es una primera aproximación al proceso de institucionalización académica de la Historia del arte en Valencia. En concreto, se ocupa del período constituyente de la disciplina como materia escolar en el currículum de los artistas formados en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos a partir de 1851 (bajo la denominación de 'Teoría e Historia de las Bellas Artes'), del carácter de la asignatura y de sus profesores, entre los que destacó Luis Tramoyeres Blasco (1854-1920). ABSTRACT: In this study I deal briefly with some issues related to the visual culture of the Baroque festival; and more specifically, with those related to the royal portraits that were on display during the festive activities. ABSTRACT: This study analyzes the meaning of the impresa or device of the pomegranates, with the motto « Agro dulce », utilized by Henry IV (1425-1474), of the House of Trastamara, King of Castile from 1454 until his death. By means of a review of vestiges that remain of the device, especially in architectonic elements, I postulate that the pomegranate may have been used as the family impresa of the House of Trastamara and their descendants. This, it seems, can be deduced from the pictura of the device in several personal imprese of relatives who lived in the sixteenth century. We want to present the José Gestoso's unpublished epistolary, a rich source of information. It preserves the correspondece received by this person between 1875 and 1917. Gestoso was a researcher of Sevillian Art and History and thanks to his job had relationship with very important people in the XIX century and early XX; this is shown by his correspondence.
